Meet The Staff

Dallas Edmiston, NAUI 4099 started diving in 1971 and became a NAUI Instructor in 1974. In the early 1990's Dallas opened Discover Diving to begin development of a new dive center in western New York that would focus on bringing the latest innovations in the sport to the Buffalo market . Dallas is a NAUI Course Director, NAUI Technical Instructor, and currently a member of the NAUI Board of Directors. In addition he holds a US Coast Guard Master Captains License and is an Instructor for Professional Scuba Inspectors (PSI), the world leader in training for cylinder inspection and safety. Dallas has traveled extensively and his diving adventures include wreck diving, cave diving and ice diving, as well as numerous destinations around the world for recreational dive vacations. Darryl Edmiston, NAUI 19630 also began diving with Dallas in the early 1970s and became a NAUI Instructor in 1996 when he also joined  his brother as a partner in Discover Diving.  Darryl is a NAUI Instructor Trainer and a NAUI Technical Instructor. Currently he is also the full-time manager at the shop and is usually is available throughout the day for expert advice, equipment repairs and to handle any questions about our programs and events. Darryl also has traveled extensively throughout the US and Caribbean plus is an accomplished wreck, cave and ice diver. Email Darryl

Linda Edmiston, NAUI 44163 may have only started diving in 2003, but don't let the fewer years fool you! In her first year of diving she logged 200 dives including dives throughout the Great Lakes, Florida and the Caribbean. Linda is a NAUI Instructor and a NAUI Technical Diver, teaching and assisting with all levels of training at Discover Diving. On a personal note, Linda met the staff at Discover Diving when she signed up for scuba lessons during the summer of 2003. After she finished her training with Darryl, she met his brother Dallas and as they say, "the rest is history". Linda and Dallas were married in January, 2007 and she has become an integral part of our teaching and dive expedition programs. Email Linda

Marsha Roach is our full-time employee at the shop and is a certified NAUI Scuba Diver. Marsha prefers diving of the warm water variety. When she can't travel to those tropical destinations, Marsha handles a lot of the phone calls and registration of divers for classes and events, as well as helping out on the sales floor. If you hear a cheerful female on the phone when you call the shop, odds are you've got Marsha on the line. When she's not in the shop, Marsha also enjoys kayaking in the local waters around western New York. Email Marsha
