Prerequisites: Minimum age 10 years of age. Participants must be in reasonable good health and comfortable in the water. Individuals with questions regarding physical or medical concerns related to their suitability for diving should talk with the instructor or store staff before deciding to enroll in training. No previous diving experience is necessary.

One of the most common questions is "How much does scuba training cost?" Unfortunately, the answer to that question can be misleading. It is a common practice to promise one price and then continually add additional fees as the course proceeds. The cost of scuba training ultimately depends on what's included. We do not engage in such practice and always provide our customers with a written copy of our course fees.

At Discover Diving we will never hit you with hidden fees later in the course. We will tell you up front in writing what to expect and let you decide if our program is right for you. But be assured, absolutely no one offers scuba training for less in western New York! That said, the best reason to learn to dive at Discover Diving is not just because of our competitive price, but because we absolutely provide the best training with flexible scheduling and do it at the very best price!

The course tuition for the NAUI Scuba Diver Program is $325. A discount is available when two or more members from the same family enroll in a scuba diving course together. Tuition includes:

The use of all required scuba equipment including tanks, regulator system, gauges, dive computers, buoyancy compensator, wet suits and weight systems. (You only provide mask, snorkel, fins and booties.)
All instructional material including the award winning NAUI Educational System with textbook, workbook, DVD, log book, RGBM Dive Tables and additional support materials.
All classroom, pool and open water instruction.
Registration fees for your NAUI Scuba Diver certification card.
Membership in the DAN Student Member program.
Free 6 month subscription to Dive Training Magazine.
Student discounts on equipment and future training at Discover Diving.

You also need to consider what is NOT included: Students provide their own mask, snorkel, fins and booties. These items are available for purchase at Discover Diving at special rates for students. Students also must pay for registration for open water dives such as boat charter fees or admission fees to dive sites. These generally range from $10 to $50 depending on the cost for the dive activity. At a minimum, you must complete two days of diving with an instructor. Fees for open water activities are due when the reservation is made.
